About Us

ContourTex is an advanced software solution designed to measure the drape coefficient of textile materials using photographs. Developed solely by Jose Alfredo, a Layout Designer based in Reynosa, who works at a cutting-edge international company in the office furniture industry, ContourTex was created to streamline and improve the testing process of customer and supplier fabrics.

Its primary goal is to determine whether fabrics and vinyls are suitable or not for each specific product, such as chairs, sofas, and lounge seating that require sewing and upholstery. By replacing traditional manual tests—where fabric samples were physically sent to production lines for validation—ContourTex introduces a digital, automated method.

With its intuitive interface and precise calculation system, it transforms fabric drape behavior from photographs into reliable digital metrics, enabling accurate evaluation of flow, flexibility, and overall suitability for upholstery, fashion, or manufacturing applications.

What We Offer

In the textile and manufacturing industries, evaluating fabric drapeability is often done manually, leading to inconsistent results, slower product development, and increased costs. Traditional methods lack precision, repeatability, and scalability.

ContourTex revolutionizes this process by offering a digital solution that automates and standardizes the measurement of fabric drape behavior through photographic analysis. Developed by Jose Alfredo, a Layout Designer at a leading global office furniture company, the software was built to solve a real-world problem: testing whether fabrics and vinyls are suitable for specific upholstered products such as chairs, sofas, and lounge seating.

With ContourTex, manufacturers can:

  • Eliminate manual fabric testing on production lines, saving time and resources.

  • Digitally determine drape coefficients to assess the flexibility and flow of textiles.

  • Increase consistency and accuracy in material selection and approval processes.

  • Speed up development cycles for new designs and materials.

  • Make data-driven decisions to improve quality and reduce waste.

Whether used for upholstery, fashion, or other textile-based applications, ContourTex provides a modern, scalable, and reliable way to evaluate material performance—before it ever touches the production line.
